Client Project Update

This week has been a bit crazy with client installs and sourcing for two new projects I took on.  Yesterday we had some drapery installed at one of my projects.

Before:  (just looking at that ladder make my palms sweaty)

After:

Love this subtle print on the linen fabric.

Here are a few more snap shots of the house- we are still working on the family room and planning on adding new lighting in the kitchen & over the breakfast table, but it is all coming along so beautifully.

I also worked on a succulent arrangement for my clients coffee table.  An easy peasy display- large seashell, moss & succulents- I loved it so much I had to make one for myself.

Entrys

Lately I've had entry's on the brain.  I think it is important to make your entry a space that is inviting and useful.  Many homes don't have a formal entry (this is the case in my home) but that should not stop you from making one.  A console table or small chest can be all you need to carve out an entry.

Add a bench or a pair of ottomans, a tray or basket for keys & cell phones, a lamp, a mirror and fresh flowers and you have yourself an inviting welcoming space for you and your guest.

Project updates

Hello friends. I was doing a photo dump this weekend from my phone and found a few pics I wanted to share from client projects.  I've been busy working on two large client projects and three smaller ones on top of my e-clients and trying to re decorate my master bedroom.  It all sounds fun and exciting, but the down side to all this great business is that my house is a complete pit!  We JUST took our Christmas tree down last night! For realz! My office is no longer a space I can even go in to work.  There are fabric samples, furniture pieces to be delivered, lamps, accessories and who knows what else piled high.  Oh well- thats a sign of creativity right? (or a hoarder)
And of course on top of all of that our household has been hit with the nastiest of nasty stomach flu's.  Im talking 5 days stomach flu- seriously!!!  My kids have been living off of Zofran, Gatoraide, and Pedialyte.  If you have emailed me and I haven't gotten back to you- that is why.  I am praying we see an end soon.

ok-onto prettier things: (these are phone shots so nothing pinworthy here today)

These leather chairs were just delivered for a clients office.  He wanted a little space to play chess with the kiddos.

My clients console finally arrived and it looks perfect! The large mirror was hung last week as well-but I forgot to take a shot.

Back before Christmas this lovely chandy was hung at my other clients home.  It is gorgeous all lit up!

And fabrics arrived this week for pillows from Pindler & Pindler: That blue velvet just makes my butter melt!!

Some color combos Im toying around with in my master bedroom:

Budget friendly shopping

I wanted to share a few finds I spotted recently while out shopping.  1st up of course is my favorite store for deals: HomeGoods.

I loved this neutral chevon patterned rug.  I believe it was under $150

And this one perfect for a kids space or sunroom:

A great little lamp for under $50

Not too far from our HomeGoods is a Habitat for Humanity Restore Store.  I usually try and pop in there once a week.  On this particular day they had this Visual Comfort brass lantern for $250! Retails for over $800

I ended up coming home with this Visual Comfort brass & glass lamp- for $35

I added a black shade from HomeGoods:

My next stop was Pier 1- now I have to admit I never hardly ever shop Pier 1, I think the last time I was in one was over a year and a half ago.  But I did find these great pieces at great price points.

This glass lamp was nice and tall.  Perfect for an entry or buffett.

I loved this little pineapple lamp with linen shade.

This floral print dining chair was a fun departure from all the graphic prints we are seeing these days.

And of course anything with gray in it gets my attention.

And whats not to love about this chest- its got gold, its got mirror and its under $500.

And for some on-lines deals-- what about these skirted ottomans from Overstock:  $185.99 for the pair!!!

Or this cream x-bench: $209.99

I did buy a pair of these:  But unfortunately the green is more of a peacock/turquoise instead of the Emerald green that I was hoping for. No worries though- for the price they were still a good deal and they are soon headed to the upholsterers for a new velvet top.

Mary McDonald for Schumacher

I opened my email today to find Schumachers latest collaboration with Mary McDonald.  All I can say is: STUNNING!!  My heart got all pitter-patter crazy as I scrolled through her collection.  And you better bet I will be high tailing it over to the Design Center ASAP to pull some samples. Mary is known for her dressmaker details and this collection has exactly that.  Trims, appliqués, Chinoiserie Panels, all there to inspire and create a space of finely detailed perfection.

I can not tell you how excited I am to get my hands on these fabrics.  I may or may not pet them, stroke them, and talk sweet nothings to them.  :-)

Oh and p.s. today is my Birthday!  Im old, out of shape and I need my roots colored- but I will still celebrate like crazy this weekend.  Lunch with my sisters this afternoon, date night with my husband tonight, and brunch with all my family on Sunday.  Oh and you better bet there will be lots of Starbucks and shopping in between!

Cheers!

p.s.- The Mary McDonald collection is available through Amanda Carol Interiors. Contact me for pricing and stock status.
