Ballards and color

I opened my email the other morning and received a sneak peek at Ballard Designs Spring collection.  They are embracing color this Spring and it is lovely!

Anyone else in love with the cut wood wall?  Reminds me of Kristen's fireplace over at The Hunted Interior.

Lots of amazing abstract pieces are popping up in their catalog recently.

Magenta velvet parsons chair---yes please

Lots of fun new fabrics too!

How about you- are you excited to see more color popping up in decor?  Im still a neutral girl at heart but love infusing splashes of it in my space.

Heavy Heart

As Im sure most of you are with heavy hearts over the Sandy Hook shooting.  I will not be posting much this week-if anything.  At a time like this fabrics and beautiful furnishings seem so trivial.  While I know we all have to get back to our routines and work it is with a heavy heart -praying for Connecticut. My dear friend Lori had to this say and I couldnt agree more.

May God be with us and hold us all during this time.

Pantone's 2013 Color of the year: Emerald Green

While browsing Overstock the other day I saw this lamp and fell in love.

I could see a pair of these in an eclectic chic entry with Emerald Green Malachite wallpaper-- something like this:

oh and that cute green velvet bench--- thats Overstock too!  I may or may not have ordered a pair of those for my living room......

Anyone else loving Pantone's 2013 color of the year?  I think it will get much more mileage over last years Tangerine Tango.

Gray & Cream Master Bedroom E-Design

Just when I thought I was done re-decorating my home..... I am thinking after the New Year our master bedroom needs some loving.  What started this whole "we need a makeover" was this photo from Houzz:

The creams and blues are dreamy.  But what really caught my eye----that tufted bench with lucite legs---hello momma!

That photo then lead me on a search for benches.....
and this one from Horchow is perfect!

Which then lead to me create this:

And so it begins........

Cheers!

Holiday Vignettes

Greetings friends!  I have finally put away my last box of Christmas decor and told myself "no more!".  I am not going to decorate every last corner of my home like years past-I say that today but knowing me the urge will hit and I will be climbing back up into the attic.

Here are a few vignettes from around the house I wanted to share:

Some pinecone ornaments fill my thrift store brass dish and simple greenery in my cream ceramic urn.

I kept my coffee table simple- fresh white poinsettia, pinecone ornaments, my deer antlers and glass balls in a large gold bowl.

More glass ornaments fill inexpensive glass jars and a simple eucalyptus wreath hangs from my Paris map.

My entry table holds a pair of evergreen trees and a pair of white deer from a local thrift store.  (Im kind of kicking myself because those deer were brass and I spray painted over them white! What was I thinking!!)

Ok now Im off to enjoy the rest of the holiday season- no more decking the halls-from here on out its hot cocoa, Christmas magazines and holiday music! Until I get on Pinterest and want to decorate all the things!!!

Emerald Green in the Dining Room

We finally had some sun this weekend so I could take some snaps of the dining room all dressed up for Christmas. Last week Pantone announced the 2013 color of the year--Emerald Green- so needless to say I was a wee bit excited that my dining room decor this year is on trend (until 2014 that is-then it will be soooo last year)

I found these gorgeous green highball glasses at HomeGoods and had to have them.  The gold brandy (I think thats what they are for) glasses are also from HomeGoods

I pulled out my gold Mikasa china and added my pink floral Royal Doulton pieces for a bit of color.

The pinecone balls are form a local home decor shop and I set them in the white ceramic urns from HomeGoods.

I filled my gold rectangular box with faux amaryllis and reindeer moss.

I bought this corner tree last year at a 75% off after Christmas sale.  Its perfect for tucking into tight corners.

All the ornaments are also from last years 75% sale.  Honestly I never buy holiday decor before Christmas-I always wait for the sales and have accumulated quite a bit over the years doing so.

These glass pinecones are amazing!!  They were originally $18 each and I got them for $4.50 each!

Kinda crushing on this emerald green crocodile wrapping paper.

I hung a large faux pine wreath in the window.

I snazzed it up a bit with a lighter evergreen garland.

And here's a little close up of my new chandelier- love!

Christmas decorating

Im still putting the finishing touches on my Christmas decor and tried all afternoon to get some photos-but unfortunately this dreary cloudy weather we are having is not helping.  Out of the 200 plus shots I took-these were the only two that came out half-way decent.

I found this deer last year at HomeGoods -he's a nice size too!

I added the gold chevron lumbar pillow from Caitlin Wilson's collection and LOVE it!  May have to keep it out all year.

So how about you-have you finished all your decorating?  Do you still have boxes stacked up against the wall like I do?  Im seriously contemplating leaving the boxes out because by the time I finish decorating its going to be time to put it all back up again. *sigh*

Christmas Mantel 2012

Hello friends!  Today Im sharing my Christmas mantel in all its silver & gold glory.  Most of these items I had on hand, I did add the new gray stockings that I picked up at Target.  Im enjoying the simplicity of the greenery with touches of silver and gold.
