Christmas front door

While Im still knee deep in holiday decorating I thought I would show you my front door.  This year I wanted something simple and natural.  I still loved the idea of the trio of wreaths like I did last year, but those who know me well know that I never like to do the same thing twice.

I purchased two pinecone wreaths from this lovely lady on Etsy and bought the fresh evergreen wreath from a local nursery.  The black and white check ribbon is from three Christmases ago and the faux boxwood spheres are from HomeGoods last year.

And here is a little peek into whats going on in the inside of the house:

Hopefully I will have more Christmas photos to share next week.

Cheers!

Client project update

Hello friends! Im finally sitting down to write a post.  Its been so crazy around here with Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, decorating, and client projects- I don't know which way is up.  We are getting down the fun part at one of my projects--the decorating!  The cabinetry, trim and walls are all painted, wood floors and carpet installed and now its time to move in the furniture!  Here are a few sneak peak pics I took with my phone today.

Fun chandelier in the laundry room:

Blue glass hardware in the wife's master closet:

And of course every girls closet has to have a chandelier:

We painted her closet in this fun Tiffany Blue

And a pair of these beauties will be in the sitting area of the master bedroom:

And remember these dark oak built-ins?

Much better right?

and when you walk in the front door you are greeted by these beautiful zebra wingbacks..hello!!!  and look at the floors!!

This week we ordered more lighting for the dining and kitchen island, a rug for the living room and all the bedding for the master bedroom.  There is still LOTS to be done but its coming along beautifully!!

p.s.-I have had several emails asking for the sources of items from my projects and out of respect for my paying clients I will not share my sources.  However if you do have a question about the paint colors I will be happy to share.  I appreciate your understanding.  If you do see something you would like to purchase directly through me I will be happy to get you pricing and delivery information.  Thanks again for understanding!

Cheers!!

Thanksgiving Table 2012

This year I kept my Thanksgiving table simple- gathered what I had around the house and pulled some items from nature.

I gathered all my Fall pumpkins and spray painted them in different shades of metallic spray paint.

I used one of my wool scarves for a table runner, added a large wooden branch from a fallen tree, my deer antlers, and sprinkled in some burgundy colored leaves from our backyard.

For the place settings I used my brown & white dishes set on gold chargers.  The gold feather napkins are from Target and the gold flatware from One Kings Lane.

The "Thankful for You" tags are from this Etsy seller and the green " sticky gum balls" are from a tree at our local park.

May you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving!!  Now off to bake the pumpkin pies.

New photos and client project update

Happy Thanksgiving week!!  Im sure most of you are in the midst of your Thanksgiving meal planning and table setting.  I unfortunately have not even started- usually by this time my tables are already set and my serving dishes are labeled and set aside.  This year Im just trying to keep my head above water and my house looks like Fall and Christmas collided- I have pumpkins mixed in with boxwood trees and glitter ornaments *sigh* oh well it will eventually get done.

Here is a another update on my clients kitchen cabinets.  We had them painted in Benjamin Moore's Linen- its a perfect creamy vanilla.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I shopped for new hardware this past week and had so much fun!

and picked up this little chandy for my clients laundry room.   The crystals remind me of water droplets -perfect for a laundry room!

It is so fun watching this home come together and it will make for some amazing before and after photos!

And in other news -I wanted a share a few photos photographer April Pizana took of my home a few weeks ago.

I have more photos to share hopefully soon!

Have a wonderful week and a Happy Thanksgiving!  Fingers crossed I will have my Thanksgiving table set and photos to share later.

Blue and White Baby Shower

My sister is pregnant with her first baby and we celebrated this past Saturday with a precious blue, white and grey themed baby shower (with pops of yellow duckies).

I spray painted mason jars blue, filled them with simple white flowers and set them on stacks of old children's books.

We floated one blue baby duckie in the pool amongst the yellow ones.

This amazing ombre ribbon cake was made by a friend of my sisters who makes beautiful cakes and cookies AND they taste -AHHH-mazing.  If your local and want her number leave me a comment and I will send you her info.

She made these precious onsie cookies with baby Noah's initial.

We had a "pop"corn bar for party favors- my younger sister made these "about to pop" bags.

The "gifts" and "hello baby" banner are from this Etsy shop.

Me and my aunt, sisters and my mom.

My moms dog Chicha wanting in on the action

And a little story about the cake-- which is now dubbed "bullet proof" because it feel over not once, not twice, but three times!  After I shot the photos of the cake a big gust of wind knocked down my framed memo board and landed on the cake knocking it on its side-and would you believe it didn't make a scratch.  After that mishap we readjusted the frame and thought we were in the clear.  Ten minutes later another gust of wind knocked the frame down and one cookie tier and a glass lid off the popcorn jar smashed to the ground- the dogs ran up, snatched a few of the fallen cookies and the cake was once again upside down-still no scratch!  To make this story even funnier or sadder was that this exact thing happened to my sisters Wedding cake minutes before they were going to cut the cake-except that cake was completely destroyed -they managed to salvage a side of it for wedding photos.  Good news was this cake made it and it tasted beyond amazing!!! and while we were sitting enjoying our cake and coffee another gust of wind knocked the rest of it down for a third time!

All in all it was a lovely day celebrating with friends and family, laughing till our cheeks hurt and realizing how blessed we are.
