Chic Office

Lately I've been dreaming about a chic home office.  Sadly I *JUST* recently turned our guest bedroom into my craft room/Mom cave and now Im chomping at the bit to change it up.  I want something a little more sophisticated with a little bit of glam.  It all started when Ms. Devore over at Dwellings by Devore  shared her inspiration pictures for her home office makeover.

After that my brain wouldn't shut off-mirrored desk, chic lamps, luxurious fabrics, oh my...

Then I stumbled across this picture from the soon to be released July Issue of High Gloss Magazine

*gasp*!!  I saved it to my desktop and look at it every day!  the mirrored coffee table and the pops of magenta-WOW!  and the new issue with the complete room is scheduled to be released today!! *squee*
ok- back to my office.....

Here are some more photos from my inspiration files:

So I pulled together an inspiration board for me-its not completely what Im wanting but its a start.

Now to find a way to make this glam chic office fit into my not-so-glam budget. UPDATED*** Office is Finished!!  You can check it out HERE ***

Impromptu Tea Party

So the other day I headed to the grocery store for some Orange Juice.  I made the mistake of walking through the floral section and stumbled across $5 orchids, and buckets full of fresh flowers for all under $6 a bundle!  So needless to say my $3 orange juice purchase ended in over $60 of goods.  But I was inspired-and I "had" to run with it (the line I told my hubby).

The pink roses, green bells of Ireland, and snapdragons prompted me to pull out my lovely Lady Carlyle China and set the table for tea.
(WARNING: lots of photos to follow )

Those Bells of Ireland are just amazing!

And this is me playing with the settings on my camera-ugh I so need a photography class-hey at least I ventured off of Auto.

Love this image with the blurred rose

And then I got bored and moved everything over to my GoodWill dresser

Ahhh liquid gold in a cup!

Ok so now who wants to come over and share a cup of tea and cookies with me?

Friday Flowers

On a recent trip to the grocery store (which you will read more about on Monday) I came across a huge sale in the floral department.  $5 orchids and $3 Gladiolus!  I usually dont have fresh flowers unless it is for a special event-but I think I am going to change that.  There is something about fresh flowers in your home that make everything so lovely-even if there are crushed cheetos under your feet and dirty socks in the corner-the fresh flowers just seem to make all those things disappear!

And the little florist lady told me the secret to watering Orchids: 3 ice cubes placed on top of the dirt once a week. Even I can do that! but keeping my 2 yr old from eating the ice out of the dirt may prove to me a challenge!

Roses, Bells of Ireland & Snapdragons

Have a great weekend!!!  See you Monday!

You've come a long way baby.....

I was going through my old picture files the other day and ran across a picture of my dining & living room area.  WOW have they come a long way.  Its always been fun to look back at our old hair styles and clothes-but we forget our home "ages" too.  And hopefully for the better!
