This room has some great metallics going on- but the greenery/natural elements help keep it grounded.

Love the boxwood wreath place setting- contrasting with the red plate.
This is one of my all-time favorite photos. I saved this photo in my inspiration file last year (before Pinterest was born). The mercury glass mixed with fresh greens, white cyclamens & paper whites make such a statement.
This is another photo that took my breath away. Boxwood wreaths oh how I love thee. These can be quite expensive if you buy fresh every year-but I have seen some great "faux" ones from Pottery Barn and Ballards. Or if your lucky enough to have boxwood growing in your yard- DIY some.
Another great example of using fresh natural elements.
Boxwood on the front porch.
I think this year Im going to try this trio of wreaths instead of the traditional single wreath.
Love this idea for the outdoor garden. Christmas lights under a cloche.

While out shopping this weekend I ran across these candle holders that would make a great DIY project. They were $89.00 each! All you would need is a candle holder, a plate or bowl, a glass candle holder and some greenery!
And it took every ounce of will power in me to NOT bring a pair of these chairs home with me. They were a lovely chocolate-gray velvet with rustic Restoration Hardware looking legs and nail head trim. Closeout price: $400 ea!!! Regular price $950! ugh! I know- why oh why did I walk away?

I have been wanting to put my Christmas tree up for months, so you are not the only one! I love Christmas! Love the ideas for the wreaths. I can't believe you walked away from that chair! Hope you had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are putting me in the mood. I always use greenery from my yard, wish I had boxwood! Hope you do the wreath trio, it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI will not decorate for Xmas before Nov., I will not decorate for Xmas before Nov., I just need to keep repeating the mantra or I WILL. Thanks for the great pictures. I pinned the bulbs in the urn. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Amanda, those chairs!! I have to admit, I saw my first Christmas commercial today and I was also thinking of my decorations. This year I may go completely minimal. I feel like a major change.
ReplyDeleteYou are just like me- Christmas on the brain already!! We need to get together soon! Are you going to the Nutcracker market? I'm going with my sis-in-law I think next Friday- maybe you can join us??
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh girl!!!! You have got me wanting to bring out the Christmas CD's...ha! Not that I needed much coaching :) Love all of your inspiration and boxwood wreaths....love em!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really ready for Christmas at all, however, I really love the natural style you've focused in on here! I think I could grab some of these ideas for Thanksgiving, right? The boxwood wreaths are wonderful. I wonder if I could make one last for a month?
