First- the BEFORE BEFORE- my $5 garage sale score:
The Amanda Carol tried her best but just didnt get it quite right AFTER (trust me the photo hides a lot of the scary stuff)
And now the AFTER Amanda Carol wises up and hires a REAL professional to do the work:
(It looks black in the photo-but its actually a Chocolate brown with solid chocolate cording)
I decided to do a solid chocolate fabric on the back for some contrast.
So what do you think? Tomorrow I'll share my other DIY- dont chair- The slipcovered version- um yea Im no Miss Mustard Seed when it comes to those. She is da bomb! So I sent that little chair to my upholsterer too!
And hopefully I will have my complete office reveal to show you soon!! Im waiting on a few more things. Including getting rid of the ceiling fan and installing a new chandy *squee*

I think your version was pretty cute, Amanda! But now, wow. That is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bridget, yours was pretty too. :) But I'm a sucker for damask.

DIY upholstery - brave task! Yours looked great but I know that if I wasn't happy with something I would *only* see the flaws every time I passed by. The finished product looks great - love the chocolate!
ReplyDeleteIs it me or are you craving chocolate and roses? :) Wonderful transformation looks divine!
ReplyDeleteI think your attempt was really good! I stopped in the middle of reupholstering a chair I have. I was ready to throw it out the window. I love the after! Great colors. Who do you use to reupholster in Houston?
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone here -- yours was very good. But if you're a perfectionist like me, you'll always see the flaws. Sometimes better to have a pro do it...this looks AMAZING!!

GORGEOUS!! Love that pattern!
ReplyDeleteYes, the professionals do do a better job than we do. I had some wing chairs re-upholstered a couple years ago- $350 each, not counting the fabric! Ouch!! I think you should feel pretty darn awesome for doing the job you did. But, it is soooo pretty now. Super pretty fabric choice!
ReplyDeleteI thought you did great! The end result IS gorgeous though! :)
