A little Christmas tour

Melissa at The Inspired Room (a great blog to keep up with!!)asked for some Holiday post--So here's what I have done so far.
The mantel.

The little niche near the front door. I usually load this up with my Nutcracker collection-but I wanted something more modern. I love all the glass jars filled with things- so I gathered every vase and jar I could find- pulled out my ornaments and bought some cheap faux snow at Walmart ($2.00 a bag!) added a little ribbon and ta-da!

I also filled one of my glass lidded jars with green Christmas balls for my kitchen dining table. Subtle but nice.

I am now working on a brown and blue tomato cage tree for my bedroom- that post to come soon!

Its beginning to look a lot like....

Christmas! yes I know Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and Im already getting out the Christmas decor- hey when you have 3 little ones underfoot- you HAVE to plan ahead or my house wouldnt be decorated until Presidents Day! So Melissa at The Inspired Room invited everyone to link up their Holiday post. If you havent visited her site YOU MUST!!!! Its packed with ideas and great tips.

Anyway-on to my decorating. I have started with the fireplace-its the easiest to decorate and doesnt take me days to do (like our 12 foot tree-yes 12 foot-THATS another post) I wanted to do simple and elegant (those words are SOOOO over used these days-but they work) I went with the browns, bronze, silver, and golds this year. Michaels has this whole section of amazing decor in these colors-but the prices-NOT SO MUCH. So I had to get frugual and "shop the house" again. I re-did my old red berry trees here. And I made a small wreath for the mirror out of an old wreath frame that had summer apples on it and wrapped Christmas holly on it.
The holly had the ugly red fake berries on it-I pulled those off and left it natural.
The ribbon is from my Fall stuff.

Heres the fireplace mantel area. I still have some tweeking to do.

Getting Christmas Crafty

So I've been in the attic this week- sorting through Christmas stuff. I am on a budget this year and wanting to re-do some things. I have had these red berry trees for years (1/2 off at Target after Christmas sale).

I am over the red berries- I've done the red berries-its time for something new. Since I heart spray paint -I thought "Why not?" . Im loving the bronze, golds and browns I've seen everywhere this year. So I got out my spray can and went to town. (I took these with my phone so they are not very good). I plan on decorating the fireplace this week (I know, I know-its early) so I will post the finished product when Im done.

Its Holiday Time

Dont want to scare you people but we are only 7 weeks away from Christmas!!
And for those of us who decorate early- its time to pull those boxes out of the garage and attic, dust them off and get ready. I bought some spray paint last night (who me? buying spray paint?) because Im going to re-do some stuff- give a new look. Im on MAJOR budget this year (who isnt these days) So Im shopping my house once again to find stuff to decorate with. I will be posting some pics soon. But for now here are some fun ones I found for Fireplaces (they are a little over the top-but I like it)
